LOCAL MISSIONS

Worship is the fuel for missions, and every time the church gathers we should find ourselves motivated to expand God’s Kingdom by loving

people everywhere as God does!

Cornerstone does missions locally by meeting needs through several ministries detailed on this page. We also minister to people through many other projects and events throughout the year.

Blue Barrel Ministry

Each month we give food to those in need by donating items requested by Greensboro Urban Ministry. Simply look for the barrels in our Commons Area near the Guest Connections Desk, drop your food donations there, and our church's volunteers will take them to the G.U.M. food pantry. Give with us!

Want to know what items we are currently collecting? Check our monthly newsletter or call our church office!

The Weaver HousE

Weaver House Community Kitchen helps the homeless and less fortunate by providing a free, well-balanced, nutritious meal each day. Our ministry is to provide breakfast, which is served between 7:15 - 7:45am, provided to those individuals staying in Weaver House Night Shelter.

Volunteers are needed once a month, every 2nd Saturday to set up, cook, serve, and clean. This gives a sense of community and fellowship between the guests and volunteers. We meet at 6:30am and are usually done by 7:45am. If you are interested in serving, please contact Jeff Caudle.

JAIL MINISTRY

Every Saturday morning from 9:00–10:00 am, the men and women behind the bars at the Guilford County Jail in Greensboro have the opportunity to hear the word of God. The word of God is delivered by volunteers from several local churches including Cornerstone. It is the mission of the Jail Ministry to meet the spiritual needs of inmates through evangelism and discipleship in the Guilford County Jail. If you would like to become part of this rewarding ministry, contact Mike Bullins for more information.

"Then the king will say to those on his right, 'My father has blessed you! Come and receive the kingdom that was prepared for you before the world was created. When I was hungry, you gave me something to eat, and when I was thirsty, you gave me something to drink. When I was a stranger, you welcomed me, and when I was naked, you gave me clothes to wear. When I was sick, you took care of me, and when I was in jail, you visited me.'"

Winter Emergency Shelter

Each year our church partners with Grace Community Church to support their Winter Emergency Shelter. This shelter provides dinner and houses men from December through March. Our church takes responsibility for Thursday evenings by serving dinner each Thursday and having two men from our congregation spend the night with a staff employee.

If you are a man who would like to participate in ministering to other men, please contact us to find a place on our rotating schedule.

If your family would like to help serve dinner on a Thursday night, we would love for you to contact us.
