LOCAL MISSIONS

Worship is the fuel for missions, and every time the church gathers we should find ourselves motivated to expand God’s Kingdom by loving people everywhere as God does!

Cornerstone does missions locally by meeting needs through several ministries, and some of these are detailed on this page. We minister to people with partnerships and through many projects, events, and activities throughout the year.

The Weaver HousE

Weaver House Community Kitchen helps the homeless and less fortunate by providing a free, well-balanced, nutritious meal each day. Our ministry is to provide breakfast, which is served between 7:15 - 7:45am, provided to those individuals staying in Weaver House Night Shelter.

Volunteers are needed twice a month, every 1st and 2nd Saturday to set up, cook, serve, and clean. This gives a sense of community and fellowship between the guests and volunteers. We meet at 6:30am and are usually done by 7:45am. If you are interested in serving, please contact our leader Jeff Caudle

Blue Barrel Ministry

Each month we give food to those in need by donating items requested by Greensboro Urban Ministry. Simply look for the barrels in our Commons Area near the Guest Connections Desk, drop your food donations there, and our church's volunteers will take them to the G.U.M. food pantry. Give with us!

THE PREGNANCY NETWORK

The Pregnancy Network is a Christian, multi-denominational organization that serves women who need help facing their unplanned pregnancies without fear. Their services are for anyone regardless of age, race, religion, or sexual orientation, and all services are free of charge to clients and funded by individual donors and organizations in their community. Cornerstone is one of the organizations that supports this ministry.

The Pregnancy Network cares for the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of individuals by embodying Christian principles and values. They support moms and dads before, during, and after an unplanned pregnancy by providing medical services, educations, resources, and mentoring. Cornerstone partners with The Pregnancy Network by supporting the operations of their annual Walk For Life fundraiser each spring, by encouraging our members to volunteer as mentors, by emphasizing Sanctity of Life Sunday in January, and by offering monthly financial support to TPN through our Missions Offering.

If you would like to know more about our involvement with this partnership, how you can give, or how you can volunteer with The Pregnancy Network, contact Cornerstone member and Missions Team leader Charlotte Haywood.

JAIL MINISTRY

Every Saturday morning from 9am - 10am, the men and women behind the bars at the Guilford County Jail in Greensboro have the opportunity to hear the word of God. The word of God is delivered by volunteers from several local churches including Cornerstone. It is the mission of the Jail Ministry to meet the spiritual needs of inmates through evangelism and discipleship in the Guilford County Jail. If you would like to become part of this rewarding ministry, contact our leader Mike Bullins for more information.

"Then the king will say to those on his right, 'My father has blessed you! Come and receive the kingdom that was prepared for you before the world was created. When I was hungry, you gave me something to eat, and when I was thirsty, you gave me something to drink. When I was a stranger, you welcomed me, and when I was naked, you gave me clothes to wear. When I was sick, you took care of me, and when I was in jail, you visited me.'" (Matt. 25:34-36)
